Wakanda Forever.
- The Dora Milaje allies work so well with each other.
- Storm and Black Panther relationship has had some moments.
- And Storm is AMAZING!!! (one of my favorite x-men behind Nightcrawler).
So let's make a deck around these three - the Dora Milaje, Black Panther and Storm and here we go.
First up - the Dora Milaje.
- Get these three out and keep them out.
- They can go back and forth between attacking and thwarting - so very versatile.
- Keep them out with First Aid, Dora Milaje, and Rally the Troops. Also Mission Planning allows activations without consequential. Team Training gives them an additional health point. Rapid Response can also be used if needed (though its intent is for Black Panther recursion.)
- Since their basic activations trigger another one's special, it is good to have at least two out. All three out is OUTSTANDING!!!
Second up - Black Panther
- Get him out if needed and recycle him as needed.
- He can pull and store for you Lead from the Front or Mission Planning until you need it.
- Rapid Response is here mostly for Black Panther and to bring him back again to tuck the leadership event again.
Third up - Storm.
- Her deck is good and versatile
- Deft Focus and X-Gene are here to help pay for her event cards.
Notes on Mission Planning and side schemes:
- It does require a side scheme in the victory display before playing
- There are four in the deck so chances are high to get one early.
- Playing the side schemes also thin out your deck.
- Build Support is here to grab The X-Jet or Dora Milaje. If those are already in play, there are still 6 other supports to pull
- Call for Backup can help play the expensive allies. Okoye is first choice followed by Black Panther as they both cost 4 resources to play.
- Rally the Troops helps heal all the allies
- New Recruits is low cost and easy to remove and adds an ally to your hand which could be used as a resource if needed. If played, this ally does not count to your limit. Typically, the target is Indra for the extra health and thus extra activations.
Other Cards
- Band Together - with allies staying in play - this usually hits for 2-3 resources provided it is not pulled too early.
- Command Team is here to provide extra ally activations when needed. It is especially beneficial for a phase when Mission Planning was just played. Mission Planning is also good for dealing with Black Panther's 2 consequential damage.
- Mission Leader is here for the card draw since there are so many player side schemes in the deck.
The Big Damage Round with Lightning Bolt and Lead from the Front in your hand.
-
Play Lead from the Front (Pay with Storm's Crown and The X-Jet )
-
Activate Storm (3 damage)
-
Change weather to Thunderstorm (2 damage)
-
Ready storm with Storm's Cape
-
Activate Storm (4 damage)
-
Exhaust Dora Milaje to activate Okoye's special to give Aneka a +1
-
Activate Ayo (4 damage)
-
Activate Okoye (4 damage)
-
Use Ayo special (1 damage)
-
Activate Aneka (6 damage)
-
Use Ayo special (1 damage)
-
Exhaust Command Team and ready Aneka
-
Activate Aneka (6 damage)
-
Use Ayo special (1 damage)
-
Activate Black Panther (4 damage)
-
Activate Indra (4 damage)
-
Play Lightning Bolt (8 damage) (Exhaust Deft Focus and use X-Gene and a card in hand)
-
Resolve Thunderstorm's special (2 damage)
-
Total - 50 damage
Cons
- 50 cards - I don't mind 50 card decks. Sure you don't cycle as much but this still runs pretty good. There are many options in building order so it can run a little different each time.
- Band together is a nothing card without allies in play so not much help early game if there are no allies out yet.
- Early game does require turning to alter ego a lot to heal and larger hand size. If needed, Band Together or Mission Planning could be replaced with Endurance. With First Aid (if needed) and turning down a lot in the early game, her health seems to hold out. It is especially nice if you can get Ororo's Garden out early.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy your trip to Wakanda.
