Theme

Wakanda’s policy of isolationism is over! King T’Challa is using the political weight and resources of the Golden City to enlist the support of the Avengers, whilst still fighting alongside them as the warrior Black Panther.

Deck rationale:

The Golden City is an incredibly powerful card (2-cost for 2-card-draw).

I want to flip to alter-ego every turn, so I can use The Golden City every turn.

So at first I thought Justice, to control threat enough to be able to flip.

But that would risk drawing into dead ‘hero action’ cards when flipping from hero to alter ego.

So instead I thought Leadership – fine to draw into allies when flipping from hero to alter ego, and can focus on allies with good thwart to control threat (in addition to Black Panther’s basic thwart of two and prioritising his Tactical Genius upgrade for Wakanda Forever!)

Once up and running, card draw of 8-9 every turn plus 8 double-resource cards in deck = some big turns!

Cards:

Avengers Mansion: to boost card draw even more. I include two copies – a) to get a copy asap, and/or b) in case you draw it in a hand where you can’t play it (e.g. alongside Golden City).

Avengers Tower and The Triskelion: to increase ally limit.

Allies: all avengers (for synergy with tower), mostly with good thwart (so BP can flip) and fairly high cost (to make the most of Black Panther’s eight double-resource cards).

Make the Call: just another flexible way of getting allies into play.

Quinjet: don’t play often, but occasionally a cheap early game card that has great value (given high-cost allies in deck).

Rapid Response: also don’t play that often, but can be helpful for getting Shuri back to get upgrades quickly, or just good value for getting expensive allies back into play.

Team Training: good value card once you start getting your high-cost allies out.

Down Time: to be honest I rarely seem to play this – maybe due to regular healing via vibranium suit. But given you’re flipping every turn, and so have lots of chances to recover in alter ego, it seems a useful card in theory.

Strategy

Priority #1: Golden City

Priorities #2: Avenger’s Mansion, Black Panther upgrades, Wakanda Forever

Priorities #3: Allies and their various support cards (particularly Avenger’s Tower)

Control threat sufficiently to flip to alter ego every turn, and use your big card draw and double-resources to play powerful allies and Wakanda Forever's!
