I built this deck just to see how it would work, and the answer is - surprisingly well!
Once Ironheart gets going she's incredibly powerful, and her signature events and upgrades handle things well on their own. The Basic suite of cards adds several things that help significantly:
-
Great Allies: Spider-Man, Snowguard, Mockingbird, Machine Man, and Vivian all come in handy at various times. Moon Girl and Nick Fury add to the...
-
Card Draw: along with Tony Stark A.I., Avengers Mansion and Champions Mobile Bunker let you see (and select) lots of cards each turn.
-
Meditation, Team-Building Exercise and The Power in All of Us help pay for the pricey allies and supports. Meditation is a great source of for charging Riri's suit too.
-
"Go for Champions!" alongside the plethora of Champions allies makes for some great turns, dealing big chunks of consequence-free damage/thwart and keeping everyone on the table. First Aid also makes an appearance (with more ) to help there too.
The strategy is simple: build up your tableau of upgrades and supports, throw plenty of allies on the table, build up your suit, and win!

Jul 09, 2022How could you write up about an Ironheart deck and not mention the greatest Ally in the game - Brawn! Seriously, he and Moon Girl are just brilliant. Love playing them. Deck looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing. |

Jul 09, 2022Well yes... I suppose so. But you had a whole section titled "Great Allies", and I was all excited to see others heap praise on Brawn to feel validated in my current man-crush for Brawn. He's great, right! OK, maybe my bad. |
I know many Champions allies were made Basic so that you could throw more decks with them together without needing tons of aspect support, and that has lent them to a basic strategy quite well!
