hello this is alt6! It's funny ... my friend and I were theory crafting a deck like this just last night. We thought of running R&D Facility to provide a source of +ATK/+TWT that could be setup in advance of the wombo-combo turn, but looking at your version, it might be too slow. I also noticed you are not running all of the usual +draw allies (Nick Fury, White Tiger, Maria Hill). At a minimum, wouldn't Maria Hill be a better Ironheart or does the "Champion" tag matter that much?

@tjjj My toxic trait is always clicking the checkbox for "beginner" despite appealing to a crowd that appreciates complexity. I am indeed, part of the problem

@daerthalus I agree with your conclusion, R&D is outpaced by Side-by-Side, that is essentially 2 R&D's in one! (Since it boosts 2 characters at once). My other linked Nova-L list has all the degenerate recursion Leadership stuff, so feel free to check that out. It is undefeated against Ronan because Nova's Ronan match-up is wild and Leadership is broken. Ironheart is here because she is better on the Go For Champions! turn! When I play this deck multiplayer, I need ways to pull other attacks for my teammates on that turn, which means having champions characters to exhaust (great way to get Ms Marvel exhausted before Side-by-Side). Vivian ally would be the next one I'd consider, and sometimes I throw her in just because. But when Nova is sweeping the board on turn 5, blanking stuff doesn't matter as much, nor does the extra THW from Maria. Both Maria and Ironheart are kind of taboo for me in the first place (too strong to be fun), so if there is a minor difference in efficiency, theme trumps!

I really appreciate the write up and perspective on this. I do wish (and this includes me) that more upstart or low rep deck builders were recognized for cool/fun/interesting (though not perfect) decks.

Also, Nova is my favorite hero to date so it already makes this deck a top tier deck :)

@andyr Yes, I completely agree. I used to look at the new column way more than I do now. Some really neat combos languish at low visibility, and that's primarily what I come to the DB for, new stuff! When someone posts something that is new-to-me, their name instantly lands on my radar, and I've made some really good connections that way.

Other decks just seem completely untested before posting, or functional, but un-interesting, not unique, or not showing a new idea. Which are things I think the private deck function is way more suited for. Except for the Every Hero Every Aspect series, my personal bar to move a deck from private->public is very high, and I attribute any engagement to upholding that standard.

But seriously, it is a great callout because while some published decks are well tested. I’ve definitely been guilty of barely testing a deck to get it out there without any hook to why it might be novel or beneficial for the community to see.

I particularly love how you view/determine what is great for private record vs good for public consumption. Thanks for sharing that and this deck!

Great deck and videos. I especially liked how you used a voice changer to make it seem like dr00 and Brian-V were different people.

Really solid deck. I just did 63 damage in a turn to finish a game (plus 10 thwart) with 10 cards still in hand to keep it going. Apparently, Apocalypse had enough and surrendered.

Kidding aside, it’s awesome to watch this thing go off! If anyone is looking for some Ms Marvel shenanigans. Can’t do better than this.

In a four player game against expert Kang tonight, a friend used your deck and we each had leadership sidekick strategies going. Nova was the clear MVP. Once Kang flipped to stage III, my X-23 did 23 damage and then Nova hit the villain for 77 in a single round plus removing all of the minions in play. Very impressive.

@journeyman2 Have you ever been able to play Go For Champions dns take the +1 option continuously with Ms. Marvel in any of your games (until you run out of resources?)

Your Chaotic Good energy is impressive.

Finished a multiplayer game versus Juggernaut with a slightly different version of the deck that used Build Support to put IPAC into play. (2 extra card draw for +1 encounter cards is a steal!)

• I ended up durdling around for 3 turns or so while Juggernaut beat the stuffing out of us.
• Then on turn 4, I went HAM and cleared every minion and side-scheme from play, emptied the main scheme and dealt the villain 55+ damage.
• Was very fun. 100% would play again, but probably not with the same play group.

@ELFersten That tracks with my own experiences haha. I'm considering not packing this to the con, just to not annoy people when our games get cut short by a very, very long turn.

@teamcanadahockey2002 No, the reason being, why spend 4 resources on GFC, when I can play 4 more Side-by-Sides! That's 32 damage left on the table by playing GFC first, if you can even max out your ATK after playing it. We're still limiting by resources, even if we give Ms Marvel infinite health. We're also limited by a finite amount of villain hp and things on the board to clear, which we are way more likely to run out of before running out of Ms Marvel hp+resources. I much prefer UNF on the combo turn, since it gives near infinite ammo to keep it going, while GFC is better early game to get a safe build turn.

@daerthalus The extra 2 cards from IPAC being 2 more Side-by-Sides for a card you never have to reveal is really cool! Great play. Can definitely see a play group getting tired of someone doing this each game haha. I've made a bunch of very fast OTK decks over the years, and when I pull one out for multiplayer, I've had friends try to "race" me to beat the villain before I can get the combo off haha

Truly, the high visibility move would be to reply to each commenter with a new comment to artificially increase my comment count with my own words.

But I think the moral of the story is, the real friends are the alt accounts we made along the way.

Love this deck idea! I have a question though - how does Mission Leader make it onto the table? It requires that Nova/Sam Alexander have the "Soldier" trait, and I don't see a way to add that to him...what am I missing?

@myrg Mission Leader does not require the Soldier trait! It just costs less if you do have it. Here The Power of Leadership can get it in as if he did have the cost reduction, and it’s great for Player Side Schemes and Unleash Nova Force turns!
