Repulsor Blast for 5-11 damage every single time whilst gaining card advantage to boot! Rinse, repeat. This is a highly specialized deck in which the goal is to take advantage of Tony Stark and Iron Man's abilities and cards that discard cards from the top of his deck. If you enjoy the self-discard archetype in card games, then this is the deck for you!

Avoid drawing these cards!

When you draw cards with Tony Stark's Futurist ability, or any type of draw that lets you choose cards from the deck (even the mulligan), you must avoid picking:

These cards are the heart and soul of the deck (especially you, <3 Lockjaw!) They may not seem plenty, but do not underestimate them. You will run through your deck very, very fast and these cards will net you card advantage through each deck pass. Of course there will be some variance, but we can mitigate that with some of our other cards.

We have forgone cards like Make the Call and because of this we have removed otherwise synergistic cards like Gamora, among others. This allows the deck to be more focused, keeping the deck streamlined with our game plan: Discard our 5 target cards, or energy resources. Card advantage, extra damage, and encounter cards galore!

Miscellaneous

  • Captain Marvel will almost always discard 2 resources for her response. She is also one of two targets for Call for Aid.

  • Domino can setup nice combos every turn. One that comes to mind is swapping Energy with the top card of your deck to then Repulsor Blast for a guaranteed 5+ damage. The possiblities are endlessly fun.

  • Kaluu is the second target for Call for Aid and let's you fish for your really powerful events.

  • Legion fits our gameplan perfectly and will often hit .

  • Lockjaw is the best pup, period. It is pretty much law that you must portal him in from the discard pile to do the finishing blow :) In all seriousness, constantly having a large discard pile means that he is the perfect resource sink for those turns where you have a ton of leftover energy! -Sunspot will always be online with all the and resources in the deck. -White Fox loves to be discarded but sometimes she just ends up in your hand. Just use her as a resource and eventually you will hit her. She is amazing value when she hits!

  • White Tiger is the third avenger ally to help anchor Call for Aid to the deck.

  • Call for Aid helps us discard large portions of our deck when we need Kaluu or Captain Marvel. In a pinch, if you are keeping track of your discard pile, you can play this card to fish out all of discard targets. Just be careful you don't take on too many encounter cards than you can handle.

  • Lead from the Front gives us more value from our allies' lackluster stats.

  • Repulsor Blast is always amazing value in this deck. 'Nuff said.

  • Ingenuity, a staple in any Iron Man deck. Has synergy with Rocket Boots, Mark V Helmet, Powered Gauntlets, and Supersonic Punch.

  • Quincarrier great for all the reasons Ingenuity is except it acts as an extra kicker for Sunspot or any villain effect that would need it.

  • Reinforced Suit gives us a cheap Tech Upgrade that increases our hand size by one. Attach it to Captain Marvel, Domino, or Legion when you can. These allies are fantastic engines and will net you the most value from this upgrade.

If you want to tweak this deck, I would suggest removing any of the following cards to make room for other cards:

TLDR

This is probably the most fun Iron Man deck I've played and I really wanted to share it. I realize this is a very obvious archetype to build Iron Man around. That being said, I feel this is one of the best builds. I would encourage anyone, new players or veterans, to try out this build with Iron Man: it is a complete blast!
