I love Erik Lehnsherr's alter-ego 'Survivor' ability. Accidentally discard past a set up piece with Magneto's 'Magnetic Pull' ability? Chances are that you can flip to alter ego and shuffle it back into your deck. Combo this with Mutant Education and X-Men Instruction and Magneto becomes the ultimate alter-ego re-shuffling machine.
The confuses from Dazzler, Professor X, Concussive Blow, Sonic Rifle and Blindfold's ability allow safer trips to alter-ego. This paired with Magneto's great board control in solo allow many opportunities to flip and trigger 'Survivor' and other alter-ego actions such as the X-Mansion and Asteroid M safely. With all of these confuse opportunities, Float Like a Butterfly is a great addition as well. When facing a steady or stalwart villain, some of these cards can be swapped for Counterintelligence paired with Agent Coulson.
This deck also includes some Magneto/X-Men staples such as White Fox, Digging Deep, The X-Jet, and Utopia. Cards like Forge, Build Support, Superpower Training, and Weapon X give some more control of getting set-up pieces onto the table to combat the randomness of Magnetic Pull.
Finally, with Deft Focus, Magneto's Helmet, The X-Jet, and Master of Magnetism making Magneto so rich, Husk is a great include as a resource dump.
This deck is extremely fun and versatile. There are a lot of different playlines with this deck, making it great to take up against any villain.
This deck has been tested against and beaten the expert NeXt Evolution and Expert Age of Apocalypse villains. (with more to come!)
I love any builds that use Float like a Butterfly! Confuse is such a great mechanic!
