The Maltese Falcon
The Maltese Falcon is a 41 card (oops, I meant to say "is a 1941") American Film Noir starring Humphrey Bogart as Private Investigator Sam Wilson (oops again, I meant to say "Sam Spade").
For the purpose of theme this deck has exactly 41 cards (representing 1941) and uses the Spider-Man Noir ally (you know... Film Noir), and almost all other card inclusions are a result of those decisions.
- Spider-Man Noir doesn't do anything without other WEB-WARRIOR cards, so:
- Scarlet Spider
- Spider-Byte
- Spider-UK
- Web of Life and Destiny (which Build Support can put into play for you). Note that none of these cards require you to control a WEB-WARRIOR card to play, which is why I chose them.
- Spider-Byte gets a cost reduction with TECH, so:
- Energy Barrier
- And you already have Vibranium Microweave (which would make Spider-Man: Otto Octavius a great addition, but I don't want cards that require other cards to play).
- Energy Barrier makes me think of Perfect Defense, so:
- Defiance
- Preemptive Strike
- Unflappable (which also fits a bird-named character LOL)
Since you get to see the top of the Encounter deck during the hero phase:
- Cosmo is one of my favorite allies for Falcon since you'll always name the correct card type
- Return the Favor can "mill" only 1 card because you'll play it when you have a treachery on top which you don't mind seeing, and it'll be the only card discarded.
Is this deck any good?
I have no idea because I haven't played it yet, I just got caught up in theme LOL
The deck doesn't have some staples I think it should have:
So I lean towards the answer to my question being "No", but I'll at least try it out.
