Welcome to Thor's Bar & Grill, where we offer a 2 for 1 Daily Special: CLICK HERE TO UPSIZE YOUR COMBO TODAY
Verily, and welcome. Hither, thither, and well, you get the idea. Today I offer an amazing deal on Thor decks, two flavours of our favourite Asgardian hero, like getting two prizes in your happy meal. Please have a look at the menu below; we've got lots of food puns.
This is a multiplayer aggression deck that just does one thing: get minions, defeat minions, and draw cards. Wait, that's three things. Well, just those three things. And at the end of the game, it can do a lot of damage to the villain, so I guess four things, but that's it. Anyway, that's it that's the deck. More details below blah blah blah. Enjoy your meal, more food puns.
Asgard Appetisers
We're a fully licensed and BYOM (Bring Your Own Minion) establishment, but if you'd like to sample from our selection, have a look at the options below.
- Angela: POPULAR ITEM. Gets a minion! You even get to choose (restrictions apply), and it leaves a body on the board afterwards.
- Face the Past: What's better than draw 2 cards? Drawing 5! I guess drawing 3 cards is also better, but hey, you get a Loki and draw 2 cards from "Have at Thee!" then three more cards. You can't attack the villain for the rest of the phase but who cares? You can still hit it with Bombs Away, Hammer Throw (through overkill), and Lightning Strike.
- Defender of the Nine Realms: Gets a minion! More importantly, always gets a minion (restrictions apply still; there's gotta be a minion left). Then removes 3 threat from any scheme.
- Looking for Trouble: Just like the previous option, but you only get to thwart the main scheme. Helpful for those watching their calories.
- Spoiling for a Fight: NEW ITEM. Gets a minion! Readies Thor! What more could ask for? This has just been added to the menu and sure to be a fan-favourite. Order today.
- Target Spotter: Still hungry? I'm sure you could find someone willing to share. Great for Ultron, Dreadpool (use it when you are not the first player, and keep in mind he'll still engage the first player right after since it's a constant effect, but still engages you long enough to draw 2 cards), Kang, and so many more.
Mains
For when you're really hungry.
Finnish Fish Fry
Looking for nautical flavours? These fantastic feasts pair well with our appetisers.
- Throg: Gets a tough while you have minions engaged with you. Great for helping to keep the table healthy for your extended dining pleasure.
- "Bring It!": Another! Draw a card when you have a minion engaged with you. Draw two cards if you have two minions. Draw thr- you know, you get it. This card is great no matter how many minions there are though. 1 minion: replaces itself. 2 minions: that's card advantage, baby. 3 minions: who needs One Way or Another anyway?
Gods' Grill
Looking for something with some heat? Let us char, fry, or grill you a feast fit for a god.
- Bombs Away: A flame-broiled basket of crunchy minions. You have to exhaust Thor, so make sure you really want to use it. It can also power up Lightning Strike instead, and you generally want lots of smaller minions in front of you to draw with Bring It. But sometimes they get a little overwhelming, and you've got a Hall of Heroes to fill.
- Hammer Throw: POPULAR ITEM! Served sizzling and grilled to your specifications, even if you're a godless heathen who likes your minions well-done. Overkill any extra damage onto the villain to savour every bite.
- Lightning Strike: POPULAR ITEM! For parties of at least 3 or more, this is the perfect sharing plate. A delicious fried and battered bowl of minions; build up as much as you can, bypass all those pesky toughs, and nuke everything.
Sven's Smörgåsbord
In the mood for a bit of variety? Try our buffet special.
- Lady Sif: Ready your hero! She also thwarts or attacks for 2. Not that you'd want to thwart, but the option is there I guess.
- Limitless Stamina: Ready your hero!
Thwart for 1!Attack for well A LOT. Maybe heal for 4 if you're into that. - Battle Fury: Ready your hero! Take a damage, but who cares? You can set this up and just use it when you need it. Combo with Practiced Plan to ready twice in the same turn for 1 resource (on that turn).
From the Oven
Build your own pizza with any of our delicious toppings, or even add your own:
- Combat Training: +1 ATK. Just great when you're attacking and readying so often.
- Mjolnir: Also +1 ATK. Also Aerial, which is important for Bombs Away. Also it's Mjolnir which is important for Hammer Throw.
Wash it all down with a selection of our beverage range, from all the nine realms.
- Hall of Heroes: build counters when you defeat minions. Flip to Alter-Ego and draw. Try getting to 6 counters, so you can flip, draw, play some stuff, then draw and flip on the next turn. Otherwise, if you flip at 3, don't draw those cards right away. It is very very tempting, but always use the draw before you flip to hero form so you have a huge hand to work with while in hero form to utilise it the best.
- Blood Rage: Defeat minions! Draw cards! Take damage! Well, that last one isn't great, but oh well. Who cares, we're drawin cards!
Final Notes
- Shatterstar is interesting here. What I found was a problem is he would usually defeat the minion after pulling it over. You still get the Have at Thee! trigger, but no Hall of Heroes, no Blood Rage, and if you have multiple minions, it's unlikely you need one just for Have at Thee. Quite situational, but could be decent for scenarios with beefy minions like The Masters of Evil, Sentinel, Master Mold, etc.
- Hand Cannon is very fun for getting the most out of your damage, but I only really needed it when playing scenarios with very low HP minions (basically, Ultron)
- Specialized Training: I waffled about whether or not I should include this in the main deck, but it's quite vital to the strategy here. Bring it and give it to the Justice player f you think no one will bring it. Just let everyone else handle it, and snap up that Combat Specialist before anyone else can. In a pinch, you could grab Front Line Specialist to get some more HP and card draw while you collect minions for bigger "Bring It!" turns.
Wow, he must be really hungry.

Battle Fury isn't a preparation. Great deck otherwise!
