47 cards!!!! Oh the horror!

but wait, before clicking off the page, the actual deck is much smaller, but I'm including extra cards here. This is a multiplayer support deck that needs adjustment based on what your friends are bringing, and I found it easier to just throw everything in as the default, and remove what you don't need.

I am publishing this alongside an article on my blog that takes a deep dive into Shopping Spree. From discussing how to clear its threat, to an extensive look at all the items you can get. Check that out here!

Shopping Spree is all about snagging some sick merch, but we aren't gonna pay retail prices. Keep an eye out for deals, and when all else fails: nothing beats a five finger discount!

Spamming Shopping Spree to pocket all the hot, trendy items for your team is nothing new. The classic way to do this is by using Mutant Education, alongside cards like Beat Cop and Disguise to can get around the heroes and allies can't remove threat here restriction. But the S.H.I.E.L.D. wave has introduced multiple cards that elevate this concept to the next level.

The first, and most exciting new card for Jubes is The Douglass. This isn't just a fun gimmick. This card fits her so well, I'd argue that Jubilee is the best hero for it. Yes, maybe even more than Maria!

The first reason is pretty obvious. It's a support, which means it can target Shopping Spree, and it does 2 threat removal which is the exact number we want. So this means that 1 Douglass = 3 Shopping Sprees whenever you need them.

The second reason... Jubes is stinkin' rich. Maybe you have noticed the whopping 8 double resources that can pay for it? You even have her hero ability too if you need it and a resource from Bloodgemor The X-Jet....yeah, finding 6 resources to play this is never going to be a problem.

The old standbys for clearing Shopping Spree are here as well, Beat Cop and Disguise. This deck doesn't do much in the damage department, so beat cop can add a nice burst of 6-10 damage late game if you get him out early. And you can't not have a mall cop in the deck! Disguise is really convenient. It is an item, does the perfect 2 thwart (must be in alter ego for it to thwart shopping spree), and it can be played on anyone at the table. This is the important part, because the player who defeats Shopping Spree is the one who gets an item card. Disguise allows them to clear it by themselves.

Now that we have the boring number stuff out of the way, its time to cop some Labubus.

"Back in my day, you had to go down to alter ego, play Mutant Education to get Shopping Spree back."

Wow, cool story gramps. We've got Manifold now. You can play him in hero form or alter ego, plus you can get 2 thwart and a chump block off of him every time. Plus he can grab any player side scheme, even ones your friends brought. There's a whole bunch of really good ones out there that can snag you all sorts of goodies for your group:

So even after you pick up all your favorite items, Eden has still got you covered.

To replay Manifold, we have Chance Encounter. This is perfect, as you can throw it right onto Shopping Spree, and then leave it there until you are ready. Clear it, grab Manifold, play him back down, and get shopping spree right back in play! Mutant Education gives you 3 chances to replay Shopping Spree per deck pass, while the Manifold + Chance Encounter combo gives us 4! Its also flexible in that it can find any of your allies. In this case, most useful for Professor X and Vivian.

Now lets talk about all these cool toys

Starting with whats in the deck already:

  • Jubilee's Coat and Sunglasses are great. You'll want to get them both out, to buff up Firecracker, Flash of Light and Multitalented. The latter can trigger both cards. There's even some turns where you won't need her extra , so attacking for 2 is a good alternative.
  • Bloodgem Trading health for can be pretty risky for Jubes, but its worth it.
  • Cell Phone: this is a pretty great in multiplayer, as it lets heroes and allies activate off-turn.
  • Disguise: as mentioned, this works well for clearing Shopping Spree
  • Invisibility Gear: Another new card, this can help keep you alive , and the threat threshold in multiplayer is usually high enough that you can afford an extra scheme.

Your teammates will want to bring items along too. Here's some suggestions:

  • Cell Phone: This is the general use item that can always be thrown in a deck and have some value. The main use is for off-turn actions, but the extra stats don't hurt either.

  • Bloodgem: an extra resource each turn is always going to be good for anyone who are willing to pay the price. It's best for heroes that either have a lot of hp, or want to take some damage. Hulk, She-Hulk, Spider-Ham, Wolverine, X-23

  • Side Holster: great for build who were gonna run this anyway, but pretty niche

Cuts and Swaps

The easy way to cut down to 40 is to remove Build Support, Superpower Training, Bloodgem, 2x Disguise, and 2x Invisibility Gear. The side schemes, Bloodgem, and some Cell Phones can all go in other players decks, so just pass them out to anyone who wants em. Invisibility Gear is a nice filler card that can help keep you alive, but it could be cut. Disguise is mostly for other players to clear Shopping Spree, you have to decide for yourself if they need it or not.

I really like running Multitalented, as it triggers both her Coat and Sunglasses. This deck doesn't do 4 player sole thwarter levels of threat removal, you are providing support here with the expectation that other players will contribute some threat removal too. If extra threat removal is needed, you can swap these events for 3 copies of Three Steps Ahead for a bit more burst thwarting.

Manifold is my choice for recurring Shopping Spree here, but you certainly can add some Mutant Educations to the mix too. Its a great card for not only recurring Shopping Spree, but her events and Plasmoid Energies too.

If you are doing some 2 player shopping, I recommend adding One Way or Another here. This works great with Vivian, Douglass, and Chance Encounter, but at the higher player counts, the threat on encounter cards is too high to justify it. You can obviously cut the third Skilled Investigator from your 2 player games.

I'm planning on bringing this baby to MC/DC. I'll have a bunch of extra cards to pass out depending on who's at the table. Every one gets a Cell Phone, whoever needs Bloodgem the most can have that (unfortunately the AoA box only gave me 1 copy!), and I'll bring my aspect specific side schemes to go with Manifold, in case players aren't already running them.

@boomguy She might be my most played hero this year! Been playing her 2 handed and multiplayer for months now testing out this deck and my new article. She's crazy good in multiplayer and still pretty underrated

@AzureDestiny Thanks for checking out out!

Jubilee is one of my favorite Heroes to play. I love how versatile and strong she can be. She's beautiful in multiplayer, as you've highlighted here.

Love to see it, keep it up!

I am curious how you're using Bloodgem since it has the "mystic trait" restriction. Maybe I missed something?

Not a Jubilee fan but love the manfiold/chance encounter. So much fun for heroes with their own PSS. Also really like the Douglass to clear it, great stuff!

@EarthTwister It's an item, so shopping spree can "cheat" it into play! Jubilee likes to use it herself, or throw it in your buddy's deck pre game if they could make better use of it. Hulk would kill for it lol

@Castlefrank47 bet you'd love to have Jubilee at the table giving you items though! ;) Can't get enough of Manifold, and it adds to the tutor focus of the deck if everyone has more side schemes he can grab! Douglass is my favorite part of the deck, its incredibly valuable here in multiplayer and Jubilee plays it so effortlessly every time
