This is a lore forward (loreward?) Jubilee deck. The Generation X title was brought back a number of years after the main run ended that had Jubilee mentoring some young mutants at the… checks notes… Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. And I thought this would be a perfect reason to put a leadership Jubilee deck together!

If you look at the art for Generation X, you'll see who was in her group. Kid Omega is pretty much the only other notable character there, but Bling! is there (mostly cropped out, that's the side of her head on the right). She's technically a basic card but she's tied to New Recruits which IS leadership. That makes two of Jubilee's students are in the right aspect for what I want to do. Good enough, let's roll with it! (The other characters on the team are unfortunately not in the game. Honestly, I'm not sure what Eye Boy's powers even are much less what he would be able to do in Marvel Champions lol. But I digress.)

I figured I could just look for what mutants are in the series, and if it was a legal choice, they made the deck. Shadowcat is the headmistress of the school. Mirage is one of the other teachers. Gentle, Pixie, and Phoebe Cuckoo make cameos. And M is one of the villains! (don't worry she gets better) Wolverine doesn't make an appearance in this book but he is the one that put Kitty in charge, so we can handwave it and say he's there in spirit.

After that, I just threw in what I thought fit the concept. X-Men Instruction is a no-brainer. "To Me, My X-Men!" is her summoning her students (usually right after they did something stupid). And then like, and bunch of supports and upgrades that feel reasonable. X-Mansion is the stand-in for the school. The school certainly has a Med Lab. Everyone has a Cell Phone (and an X-Gene for that matter). Avengers Mansion is the biggest stretch, but Jubes is resource rich and card poor. She needs the help.

This is perfectly cromulent deck, but it's not a good example of what Jubilee generally wants to do. This deck wants to play allies (getting some juicy effects when they enter play repeatedly) and support them while, whereas Jubes prefers to play events to trigger her upgrades. If you wanted to really optimize this concept, you'd probably build around Children of the Atom and Mutant Mayhem. Fortunately, there are several decks like that on this very website, and I highly recommend checking those out if you want to see an actual good deck lol

This is my second loreward (I'm making that a thing!) deck for Jubilee, and I have two more planned, one each for Protection and Aggression. Did you know that Jubilee lost her powers in the comics way back on M Day? In fact, she only gets them back at the end of the run this deck is based on! That's 12 years IRL! So what was she doing in between then and now? Stay tuned!
