"This deck uses Disguise with SP//dr's split identity to push the boundaries of thwarting in multiplayer" ~D.M. Tip
SP//dr Suit Riot
Having played an older version at last year's Con of Heroes, I have to say Disguise on SP//dr is a complete riot. It is extremely satisfying to have another use for your split alter-ego. If you're not familiar with SP//dr or avoided her, because she seemed uninteresting or too complex, here's an example of how she works.
D1SG//ise Interface Online
In the situation described above, we can remove 2 threat with Disguise and still be 'ready' in hero form to remove more with with a basic Thwart. Combine this with upgrades like Psychic Link and Host Spider for even more Thwarting.
Keep in mind that SP//dr (pilot) is also an Interface that can be used for Sync Ratio, so Disguise costs you 1 effective resource. That said, I still find it very satisfying and worth it, especially because it readies with All Systems Go!.
Suit Upgrades & Allies
Prioritize your interfaces to ramp up your board state with resource generation. I typically grab Psychic Link and Speed-Metal Alloy first with All Systems Go!.
Heroic Intuition and Symbiote Suit bolster our baseline of THW from 2 to 4 and synergize well with Host Spider. Symbiote Suit also works well with Web-Fluid Compressor and helps SP//dr lean into her native role as a solid all-arounder.
Deploy Operative Skill after your priority upgrades are out. It helps boost Even the Odds and Rapid Deployment and increases the effectiveness of Overwatch.
Besides VEN#m, your allies are basic to easily pair with The Power in All of Us and provide an assortment of benefits ranging from card advantage to readies to keep you powered up and moving forward.
SP//dr Operations
Typical order of operations:
- Grab Disguise and all the Interfaces you can.
- Keep tempo as necessary to reduce threat and Assess the Situation to jump start subsequent turns.
- Clear Infiltration minions with basic Attack + Web-Fluid Compressor
- Deploy allies once interfaces are online or if you don't have a better play. You don't always need their defense, but fewer recoveries means more Disguise activations.
- Take advantage of card combos like Rapid Deployment + Operative Skill + Overwatch and Infiltration + Overwatch.
- Utilize Disguise as much as possible.
- Activate and re-activate Interfaces with All Systems Go!. Again, note that because SP//dr Pilot is an Interface, so if you flip down with it unexhausted, you can immediately Recover or, ideally, use Disguise.
- Flip often to take advantage of Disguise and don't sleep on Peni's Maintenance to grab extra cards before flipping up.
- Mission complete.
When fully built out and starting in Alter-Ego, you can Thwart for 2 with Disguise, Flip, Basic THW for 6 w/ Psychic Link, ready with Host Spider and Basic THW again for 4, for a total of 12, which happens to be the magic number to clear most side schemes in 4-player games. This leaves 2 interface resources unused to play cards. If you throw a single All Systems Go!, you Thwart for another 10 with 3 interface resources. The following turn, you can start with basic activations and leave your Pilot interface ready for Disguise once you flip back down to AE, reaching the same numbers
User Manual
There is quite a bit of room to customize this deck to fit your collection or multiplayer needs.
- Limitless Stamina is a solid add for added flexibility, but in my testing it cluttered hands early and wasn't as impactful as All Systems Go!.
- If you don't have Sinister Motives, you can use Avengers Mansion over Symbiote Suit and Machine Man & Vivian over Peter & Gwen.
- For side-scheme heavy scenarios like Expert Klaw or Magneto, another copy of Even the Odds is clutch.
- For Stalwart villains, swap out Quick Quip for another Thwart event or cheap ally.
- If you have a solid Protection player defending for you, feel free to swap a few allies for 2x more Skilled Investigators to support your friends.
I hope you enjoy SP//dr as much as I do! If you try this deck out, let me know how it went.
~Peace!
SP//dr Suit Riot…now that song will be in my head all day!! Love this idea of using Disguise for her. Super clever!!
