"Yes I'm going to finish the whole thing, and no I wouldn't mind some kraut."

Deck Overview

This deck is a ton of fun and leans into what makes Spider-Ham a good time. It has taken me a while to come around on him, but I'm getting there. This is a deck that wants to lean into killing minions with overkill, draw a ton of cards along the way, and get rich doing both.

There is nothing groundbreaking here, but it's been a lot of fun at all player counts. The designers gave us a big, stupid hammer...so let's use it!

Player Type: Johnny
Player Count: 1 - 4p
Key Cards: Blood Rage, Moment of Triumph
Complexity: ★☆☆☆☆
Damage: ★★★★☆
Threat Control: ★★★☆☆
Survivability: ★★★★☆
Economy: ★★★★★
Card Drawing: ★★★★☆

Deck Description

Are you tired of wearing a spider costume to hide your snout?

Do you want to turn that pain into money?

Using overkill in Spider-Ham's kit from Huge Wooden Hammer, and a ready each turn with Organic Webbing, we can use the big attacks with Savage Strike to mow down the villain.

But wait, there's more! Killing minions draws cards with Blood Rage, which also feeds your emotional masochism toon counter economy by dealing a damage to yourself. You can also use Battle Fury to add even more toon counters and get even more readies! Hall of Heroes will draw cards when you flip down after killing the minions. Swinging Web Pig helps you to get some latitude to flip down, if you are playing solo.

Aggressive Conditioning and Endurance keep your health up (+3HP each), and Moment of Triumph can heal you for a lot when you hit a minion for a lot of overkill.

When you are built out, you should have a solid ATK stat. Let's look at the math:

So killing a minion gets you:

When the going gets tough, the tough eat hot dogs.

Flipping to Alter-Ego gets you:

This isn't a Web-Warriors deck, but we have some anyway:

  • Peter is here to help with readies.
  • Otto is here to ready your upgrades.
  • Gwen grabs some events.

We also have Hope Summers, who can help you grab Cartoon Physics so you can get that down as often as possible! She also triggers Web of Life and Destiny when she leaves play. Neat-o!

Despite being rich, we have another resource generator. Team-Building Exercise helps pay for a bunch of things:

  • Captain Americat
  • Cartoon Physics
  • Organic Webbing & Huge Wooden Hammer
  • Swinging Web Pig and Hogwashed
  • All of your WW allies (but not Hope)

Note for solo play:

This deck can handle all player counts and is really flexible. In solo, the 3 THW and an extra ready is great for keeping the scheme under control, and don't be afraid to swap some cards out for Chase Them Down. Or just add them and go over 40 cards. Live dangerously.

Okay, Boomguy. Haven't I seen this before? What's new here?

I am not sure if any of this is new! But sometimes I just want to share what I have fun with an maybe it will resonate with people.

To be fair, I didn't go looking for other decks before I started making and playing this, but since these are very similar decks from gentlemen that I know and love, I figured I might as well share them!
