"I'm the only person in the galaxy who knows who you really are. You're the good guy."
Gamora: A Starhawk Warpath Story
Overview
In a galaxy far, far away, the infamous outlaw Gamora uses her Finesse and Precision (in both phases) to take down targets across the galaxy. She also makes some friends along the way.
The Warpath to Finesse and Precision in the Villain Phase
-
Finesse and Precision are Gamora's hero card response abilities that can activate once per phase and this deck helps with triggering these during the villain phase.
-
Warpath's hero response ability allows Gamora to play Hero Action attack/thwart event cards during the villain phase after Warpath defends.
-
Warpath comes in with a tough, but to keep him around long-term, a minion with 2 or less ATK can be Pinned Down so Warpath is taking no damage when he defends to freely use his ability.
-
Face the Past can bring out Nebula who is also a potential Pinned Down target.
Harvesting a Change of Fortune
-
Change of Fortune provides even greater benefit for playing attack events during the villain phase if there are minions to be defeated.
-
Playing attack events with Warpath is the primary way to defeat minions in the villain phase. (A thwart event can also finish off a 1 HP minion with Precision.)
-
Crosscounter can also defeat minions in the villain phase if their HP is low enough. Same with Excelsior.
Gearing Up and Surviving the Galaxy
-
Firepower is really strong when fully set up with 3 weapons and all the weapons in this deck can be exhausted for it.
-
Excelsior is the easiest weapon to play with its low cost.
-
Sidearm should be played on Warpath or Groot who will stick around.
-
Gamora's Sword is expensive so Superpower Training can be used to play it if needed.
-
Groot is your trusty companion to block minion attacks until the minion can be Pinned Down or defeated. If the villain does not hit too hard, he can also take villain hits and heal up by defending weakened attacks from Pinned Down minions.
-
Armored Vest and Defensive Conditioning help boost Gamora's survivability.
-
Keen Instincts helps you pay for your events especially Multitalented which will benefit from the wilds to hit all effects.
-
Ready for a Fight helps you change to alter-ego form with lower risk to use Conditioning Room, use Gamora's alter-ego ability, and/or basic recover.
The Starhawk Engine
-
This is lower priority, but still a fun combo to pull off.
-
Starhawk's interrupt ability allows him to go back into your hand when he takes damage matching his remaining HP so he can do useful stuff and then return to your hand to be replayed.
-
Team-Building Exercise reduces his cost when you're in hero form.
-
Knowhere lets you draw a card after you play him.
-
When the Starhawk Engine is fully setup, Starhawk effectively refunds all costs of replaying him every time.
Hope you enjoy this deck and let me know how it works out if you try it!
