NOTE: Decks I build are focused on theme and fun. While I aim for strong performance, I prioritise storytelling, synergy, and cinematic moments. Most decks are tuned for Standard villain difficulty, not Expert.
Ideal For
- Players looking for a thematic 2-player Nebula deck alongside Gamora in the Aggression aspect. This Justice deck supports Gamora to unleash her maximum potential. It rewards careful planning and making plays on Gamora's turn for explosive momentum. Great for players who enjoy sequencing and winning as a support hero.
Mode & Playstyle
-
2 Players (paired with Gamora Aggression: Stunning Sister Slayer - SS Thematic Decks)
-
Complexity: 4/5
-
Archetype: Confuse Lock • Side Scheme • Support Player
-
Rush ↔ Tempo ↤ Control
-
A tempo deck that rewards careful planning and plays during Gamora's turn. Then along side Gamora, we can temporarily shift gears into a rush-style. Ultimately, it is still a support deck that predominatly builds Gamora but has moments where Nebula can be a hero too.
Hook
-
The priority is establishing a Confuse lock through "Think Fast!", Upside the Head, and Sonic Rifle. While the villain struggles to execute their plans, we safely flips to alter-ego every alternate round to continue building the board.
-
Whilst the villian is confused, Nebula can dish out some beating by: Stunning with Upside the Head, damage from Scare Tactic, extra damage from Float Like a Butterfly with attacks like Weapons Master.
-
Returning to alter-ego allows us to repeatedly trigger our ability, 'Cybernetic Upgrades; ( Nebula ), which draws two cards after playing a Technique each round; this is helpful to build the for the big pushes. Furthermore, we can play Lethal Intent to stack more identity specific upgrades (but note this does not trigger the Cybernetic Upgrades due to the difference between put into play vs. play technique card: as per rules ref 1.8)
-
The player side schemes are intentionally left for Gamora whenever possible. Clearing them rewards both sisters through Skilled Investigator, Stealth Training, Gamora's Clear the Area, and Overwatch, for multiple card draws or stuns.
-
Eventually Nebula's Confuse lock and Gamora's Stun lock leave the villain unable to respond, whilst the sister delivers devastating combos.
Tips for building our supports
-The most satisfying turns come from helping Gamora set-up explosive attack chains.
-
For mulligan, Daughters of Thanos is amazing to accelerate builds straight from the start.
-
Nebula's Ship is one of the most important cards in the deck because of its extra resource that can also be triggered in alter-ego.
-
Crew Quarters provides valuable survivability, but is not vital early game. Since Nebula regularly flips to alter-ego, the extra healing from Crew Quarters adds up, but she can still basic REC in a pinch too.
-
Nebula is very flexible. Prioritise whichever Technique best answers the scenario.
-
E.g. Cutthroat Ambition shines against scenarios with multiple minions or Tough status cards.
-
Under Surveillance buys time by increasing the main scheme threshold. This allows them to focus more on rushing the villain instead of worrying about threat.
-
Sense of Justice is a late-game support card for Gamora rather than an early priority. It helps smooth out the occasional thwart events, but there are other more important setups for Gamora in the early game.
Tips for the Sister Combo:
-
Many of the aspect upgrades / supports exist to enable Gamora rather than Nebula:
-
Float Like a Butterfly, Skilled Investigator, Sense of Justice and Stealth Training are included primarily to improve Gamora's damage and consistency. Some have two copies to improve seeing them early, but the second card could also benefit Nebula.
-
The strongest plays often come from coordinating both sisters' turns together. Setting up effects during one hero's activation can allow the other sister to trigger them for a bigger combo.
-
For example, Sonic Rifle is valuable not only for maintaining a consistent Confuse lock, but because it is a Hero Action. As the second player, Nebula can Confuse the villain during Gamora's turn, allowing her sister to immediately benefit from Press the Advantage, or Float Like a Butterfly.
-
Similarly, Lethal Intent can trigger Techniques during Gamora's turn, allowing Nebula to use the techniques more before they are discarded from her hero's Forced Action ( Nebula ).
Deck Build / Design Choices
-
The new Rules Reference v1.8 allows Daughters of Thanos to replace the identity specific Gamora ally, effectively keeping the deck at 40 cards.
-
There are intentionally no allies in this deck. Thematically, Nebula and Gamora are learning they only need each other rather than relying on anyone else.
-
Mechanically, this also balances the pairing. Confuse-Lock from Nebula alongside Stun-Lock from Gamora is already extremely powerful. No allies puts the pressure solely on the sisters with the added cinematic tension.
-
One Way or Another was considered, but ultimately omitted. Although it could improve early tempo, player side schemes generated enough value for both sisters to clear without unnecessarily accelerating the villain. Plus, playing the sidescheme could help thin our deck and sit in play when we do not have the oppurtunity to clear them yet (although reminder: only 1 player side scheme in play for two players)
Storytime
Long trapped in her sister’s shadow, Nebula reclaims the dark as a lethal double agent. Operating behind enemy lines while Going Undercover to Lay Down the Law, she weaponizes her Sonic Rifle and the jabs of "Think Fast!" to halt the villain's scheme. Driven by a cold, calculating Cutthroat Ambition, she coordinates their Plan of Attack, keeping the entire battle Under Surveillance and maintains a watchful Overwatch, twisting the enemy's certainty into absolute chaos.
With the battlefield fully controlled, Nebula orchestrates the ultimate opening for the sisters to unleash their Lethal Intent. Gamora dismantles side schemes like a Skilled Investigator using her Sense of Justice and Stealth Training. As Nebula retreats to Nebula's Ship to repair her cybernetic frame, Gamora unsheathes Gamora's Sword and Float Like a Butterfly to exploit every opening. Nebula isn't competing for the spotlight but knows she is responsible for her sister's triumph.
By the endgame, the villian remains blind to Nebula's betrayal, completely missing the sister who chose her true blood over Thanos's manipulation. Invoking the unbreakable bond of the Daughters of Thanos, the pair stand back-to-back. Gamora Press the Advantage with unstoppable Forward Momentum. Smashing the villian with a brutal Clobber, and ending with a Decisive Blow of Drop Kick. No longer forced to destroy each other, they prove they were always stronger together.
