About Colossus:
Colossus comes with 14 printed hit points, a REC of 4, 1 THW, 2 ATK and 2 DEF. In his hero form he only has a handlimit of 4 cards. While in hero form we can have an additional tough status card and everytime we switch to our hero form we get 1 for free! Well isn't that's nice :) When we flip to our alter ego we can shuffle a hero card back in our deck from the discard pile.
Let's talk about his hero cards real quick:
-
Iron Will gives us a much needed +1 THW and lets us draw a card each time we discard a tough status card. Since we do not have to exhaust it, it means we can draw more than 1 per phase.
-
Titanium Muscles gives us +1 ATK and also generates for each tough status card
-
Organic Steel comes with 2 counters and gives us a tough status card afer we had to discard one.
Now as you can already see his hero cards all revolve around the tough status cards. His events are incredibly strong and our goal is to keep his tough status cards up so we can take full advantage! Let's dive in!
About the deck:
-
As mentioned we wanna keep up our tough status. So that's why we gonna add 2 copies of Perseverance which are going to help us do just that! :)
-
Same goes for Polaris which will give us 1 tough card once he entered play. Or you can give it a different X-Men character if you wish (in case we already have 2)
-
Steel Fist and Tackle are keeping the villain in check so we can actually spent our tough cards for our events, etc. Paying the shouldn't be a problem with Titanium Muscles. While we do not get a card draw from Tackle like we get from Drop Kick, it still stuns and deals 3 damage.
-
In case we get attacked again or the enemy has Steady Nightcrawler is also a really nice - if yet a bit expensive - way to prevent incoming damage and keep our precious tough cards! The X-Jet is gonna help us out with the
Now to the other (re)purpose of the deck!
3 copies of Energy Barrier and 2 copies of Plasma Pistol help us making use of Repurpose. While Colossus - unfortunately - does not come with his own Tech Upgrades we need to bring them ourselves. Now you may think that Repurpose looses a bit of value here since it's a bit less likely to have a tech upgrade in play, but we do have quite a few options to ready our hero, though! That means even if we might not wombo combo with 3x Repurpose we can still get quite a lot value out even of just 1 use of Repurpose. With his 14 printed hit points we obviously gonna take 3 copies of Limitless Stamina and with Bulletproof Protector we get an additional 2 cards which can ready our hero. And Professor X can also help out if we can afford to play him during that turn.
Now to round everything up we gonna take up Deft Focus since Limitless Stamina and all our hero cards are Superpowers
Adjustments:
Well while I can't recommend to switch out any of the cards just, yet - due to a little bit more testing needed - a few nice choices might be:
- Forcefield Generator - to enhace Repurpose (Keep in mind that it also costs more)
- Unshakable
- 1 more copy of Perseverance
- Hard Knocks
- Jump Flip
- Dauntless
So that's it for now! I hope you are just as excited about the new campaign as I am! :)

Oct 03, 2022Thank you, dr00! :) Yeah, Energy Barrier and Forcefield Generator won't be getting much value outside of Repurpose unfortunately since they won't protect you from loosing a tough status card. But I felt like I needed more thwarting options and since Protection doesn't really offer much... Hard to Ignore wasn't really an option since you do not want to defend that much ^^# so I felt going with Repurpose was the most reasonable choice, since it's also pretty flexible if you wanna go with ATK or THW. Plasma Pistol is already in the deck, or what did you mean by that? ^^ Gonna maybe update this deck once I tested it more. What Doesn't Kill Me can also help getting more out of Repurpose |
Oct 04, 2022oh, i totally missed it haha. you were already there with the pistol :D sorry, it was really late for me lol |
Oct 13, 2022Great deck LL! Only got better with the most recent Tough ruling. |
Oct 14, 2022Yeah now Barrier and Forcefield can actually protect your tough cards. Pretty amazing :) |
great concept. perfect with limitless stamina. I think Plasma Pistol is another decent option. despite being generally objectively worse than energy barrier, you can trigger it whenever you want, whereas barrier and forcefield don't work with tough
